Trafikverket has introduced new modular multi-level railway power supply converters. These converters have
characteristics that are different from previous generations. The project focuses on the dynamic behavior of the converters as seen from the railway power grid and the three-phase grid. Studies on the input admittance of the modular multilevel converter (MMC), have provided an insight on the interactions between the three-phase grid and the converter. The results have been verified on a developed prototype converter.
